Through the organizing principles of hierarchy\, neuroception\, and co-regulation\, Polyvagal Theory has revolutionized our understanding of how this system works. Guided by Polyvagal Theory\, we have a new appreciation of the ways experience shapes the nervous system and of the pathways that lead to healing. With this updated map of the autonomic circuits of connection\, mobilization\, and collapse\, we have practical ways to effectively help clients identify and interrupt patterns of protection and strategies to shape their systems toward the regulated state of safety and connection that is necessary for successful treatment. \nIn this workshop participants will explore Polyvagal Theory by learning the language of the nervous system as they map their own autonomic pathways and discover how to become a regulated and regulating resource for clients. Participants will learn how to bring the power of Polyvagal Theory directly into clinical work with practices designed to reliably help clients re-shape their systems and re-write the stories that are carried in their autonomic pathways. Participants will experiment with multiple ways to map autonomic responses\, create skills to safely explore patterns of action\, disconnection\, and engagement\, and work with techniques to build autonomic regulation and resilience. This workshop will use individual and dyadic experiential work\, role play\, demonstrations\, and clinical videos to offer participants a foundation in the application of Polyvagal informed practices. \nDescription of the Training part 1\nEngaging the Rhythm of Regulation: Foundations of Polyvagal Informed Practice Part I is the first training in the Rhythm of Regulation training series.\nClinicians taking this workshop will gain a basic understanding of Polyvagal principles and learn specific ways to bring a Polyvagal lens to clinical work.\nThis program is appropriate for all licensed clinicians including social workers\, psychologists\, clinical counselors\, art therapist\, dance and body psychotherapist.\nAs a beginning level training\, no prior experience with Polyvagal Theory is required. This workshop is required for participants who want to register for Deepening the Rhythm of Regulation: Foundations of Polyvagal Informed Practice Part II. Participants who complete both Foundations I and II will be eligible to register for the Advanced Clinical Practice workshop which will be offered for the first time in 2022. \nTo see a summary of Part II\, click here \n Training format\nThe live online sessions will be led by Deb Dana\, assisted by Enrique Arellano. \nIn between modules and live Sessions there will be CONSULTATION GROUPS with four (4) FOUNDATION Consultants to offer between session group consultation and experiential practice. \nIn addition to the videos\, participants will be asked to complete practice assignments between training dates as a way to gain confidence and expertise. \nThe full training group of 64 participants will be divided in several ways. \nGroups of 16: The large group will be divided into groups of 16.  The groups of sixteen will each be assigned a Foundations Consultant who will be the point person for the duration of the training. Each group of sixteen will meet with their Consultant twice during the training for 90 minute practice sessions. \nGroups of 4: the groups of sixteen will be divided into groups of four to create small consultation groups. Each consultation group will have the opportunity for a one hour consultation each month with one of the Consultants. You can all find the right day and time with your consultant using the Calendly app. \nGroups of 2: Each participant will be paired with another participant in a Polyvagal Partnership. Your Polyvagal Partner is someone to connect with throughout the training and discuss material\, share personal and professional experiences through this new lens\, practice new skills\, and experiment with all things Polyvagal. \nTopics covered \n\nThe organizing principles of Polyvagal Theory\nHow to create autonomic maps and use them as a guide in treatment\nSkills to track habitual response patterns\nHow to build individual and interactive resources to shape the system toward connection\nPractices that engage the co-regulating pathways of the Social Engagement System in therapy sessions\nWays to work with experiences of rupture and repair\nBeginning techniques to work with portals of intervention to reshape the autonomic nervous system\nWays to introduce a Polyvagal approach into clinical practice\nHow to use the guiding questions of Polyvagal informed therapy to shape clinical work\n\n\n\nProgram\nClick on the different modules to see the details \nIMPORTANT: The total number of attendees will be divided into two groups. Clients come to treatment with a compromised ability to regulate their autonomic responses. The response patterns that were once adaptive and necessary for survival now bring suffering. When we look toward the autonomic nervous system\, we find the biological pathways to healing and a roadmap to creating new\, resourcing patterns of connection. \nEngaging autonomic pathways in service of safety and connection is an essential ingredient in successful therapy. Building on the basic skills presented in Foundations I\, this workshop dives deeper into the elements of Polyvagal informed practice supporting clinicians in embedding the principles of Polyvagal Theory in all aspects of their clinical work. Using individual and dyadic experiential work\, role play\, demonstrations\, and clinical videos\, this workshop will offer participants multiple experiences of Polyvagal informed practice and new ways to befriend\, attend\, and shape the nervous system. \nClinicians taking this workshop will gain competence in using Polyvagal Theory as the foundation of their therapeutic work and become confident in their abilities to offer therapy in ways that honor the role of the autonomic nervous system in resolving post traumatic patterns of response. Deepening the Rhythm of Regulation: Foundations of Polyvagal Informed Practice Part II completes the Foundations training series. Completion of this series is a pre-requisite for clinicians wanting to register for the Advanced Clinical Training Series. \n See learning objectives \nParticipants will learn: \n\nHow to attend to context\, choice\, and connection\nStrategies to incorporate the physical environment in the treatment process\nPractices to regulate the pace of a session\nThe elements of autonomic conversations\nHow to guide clients in staying out of their cognitive stories\nSkills to engage with different autonomic profiles\nTechniques to work with the autonomic hierarchy\nWays to assess autonomic change\nHow to use between session work\nPractices to safely introduce touch\nThe responsibilities of being a Polyvagal informed therapist\n\nCancellation policy\nYou have the right to cancel your participation in any of our online courses under the following condition: \n\nYou must write by email requesting your wish to cancel your participation in the seminar to which you have subscribed: attention: info@institutocuatrociclos.org\nYou have the right to a refund of your money\, less € 50 of administrative expenses\, if you cancel at least 15 days before the date of the event.\nOnce the event has started you will not be entitled to a refund.\nIf you are unhappy with the webinar\, please contact us by email at: info@institutocuatrociclos.org and explain your complaint\, we will try to respond appropriately.\n\nTicket sale\nPurchase tickets\nAdd the number of tickets (max.1) \nTickets will be on sale from July 15th 2020\nIMPORTANT: You are about to buy a ticket to take this course in ENGLISH.
